The "Wabita Info" website reported that those in charge of the " WhatsApp " application are testing a new feature that will increase the protection of conversation and correspondence data in the application.

The site had previously published an advertisement shared by Mark Zuckerberg regarding the feature of the ability to lock chats in protected folders.

This amendment greatly strengthens the privacy of user conversations, and even if someone is able to access your phone and enter the WhatsApp program, he will not be able to enter the locked chat room, which will be in a separate section, and can only be accessed through your phone’s personal identification number or Biometric authentication.

The website indicated that those in charge of WhatsApp have plans to provide users of the application with a feature that allows them to choose a custom password for their protected chat room.

The new feature was discovered in the latest beta version “2.23.21.9” of WhatsApp, which was released on the Google App Store, and the Wapita Info website published a screenshot showing that WhatsApp is working on the new feature that it will launch in the future. This screenshot shows how to allow users to configure a secret code.

Wabita Info believes that providing a feature that allows users to set a custom password for their protected chat folder is very useful, as it differs from the phone’s main password and enables users to have greater control over their locked conversations.

When users set a custom password for their protected chats, it isolates the privacy of these chats from general phone security measures. This means that even if someone manages to hack into the phone, they will not be able to access your protected chats folder .

Another important thing is the possibility of using this feature from WhatsApp applications from devices other than the primary device.

The secret code feature for locked conversations is under development and will be available in a future update to the application.  It can be tested by subscribing to the WhatsApp beta program on Android devices after downloading the latest version of the application. It can also be tested on iOS devices.
